Master Chef -Food Again

Australia is really a place where you can find a diverse range of foods from all parts of the world. After staying in Melbourne for the past few years, I have been exposed to different types of cuisine which I have never tried back in Malaysia partly because back home, dad likes home cooked food so he rarely will bring us out for meals.

The perks of staying away from home means my journey for food exploration has begun. Not only I get to try the different cuisines, my knowledge in food has also increased tremendously after watching so many seasons of master chef (MC) Australia ! For those foodies out there, master chef is really a must watch show in Australia. It is one of the most popular TV series in Australia. Can you imagine the numbers of people watching it as they are showing every day except Saturday night? It is also a good table talk to break the ice with strangers cuz almost every single soul that has TV at home will watch it.

Show you the curry puff I made last night. It was inspired from one of the MC contestants (Tash). The one she made was so crispy based on the comment from the judges. Sadly to say mine wasn’t as good as her. Nonetheless, would still give myself a pat on the shoulder for the effort of making it!

 Curry puff in making

These are the ones made by me!
Taste wise not bad, just not as crispy.
One of my friends said my curry puffs are full of pimples
 =.=

Oh well how should i response?
They are fried in deep oil that why
hahahha

Tash's one just looked much more appealing right?
Is pastry skin! Hers is just so crispy

Every now and then MC will invite some celebrity chefs or chefs from the top restaurants around aus for pressure test or master class. This has no doubt spawned business in the hospitality sector. Whenever a new famous chef comes to the show, everyone will start google-ing the restaurant they worked in and start making reservations. I got to know Christy Tania (a patisserie chef) from MC. The restaurant she works in is now on my wish list of restaurants to visit.2 of my colleagues have already made their booking to visit OM NOM. Apparently, this is the only high end dessert bar in Melbourne. The desserts made by her is just beyond description!(from the pic I saw on their website) Really really wanna to her  pay a visit! Im contemplating should I buy the Melissa shoes which I have been eyeing 6 months ago or try out the degustation in OM NOML or just save the money .

Below are some creations by Christy Tania .Pictures taken from Urbanspoon

Monday

I was totally drained off after class on Mon and Tue,because we were making danish and croissant in the pastry class. It took us two days to finish it.To be honest,Im not really a big fan of croissant so i had never in my life appreciate the beauty savoring it.After making it,i learned to understand why they are so expensive,as it really takes long hours to produce a nice and crispy puff pastry.

The ingredients use to make puff pastry are really cheap, mainly just butter, water and flour. Is the process of kneading and time waiting for the dough to set that makes them costly to purchase. It really involves plenty of  labor work in it.My suggestion is that,if you are not going to eat much,is better off to buy it from bakery store.I would really have to admit that it is definitely worth more than $4 for a croissant, as  i used to think croissant are way overpriced.

Aren't they pretty before baking??

The round one is called:Cinnamon and raisin Escargot(they are danishes as well)

After baking for 25 to 30 minutes.the whole room was filled with aroma of  nice buttery smell.are you craving for them after looking at it?lol

Though i was so tired on Monday night, but josephine and i still make the effort to go out for dinner at Lonsdale st in the city. Initially i was wearing the H&M black dress which bought few weeks ago,but then I decided to change to maxi dress because jo wearing her max dress too!

Day trip at Mount Dandenong

I went on a day trip to Mount Dandenong on Saturday with Mandy and Vivi.We took the Melbourne one and only steam train-Puffy Billy up the mountain. In fact this is my second time taking a ride on Puffy Billy,my first time was back to 2008 or 2009. cant really remember which year as it has been too long. All i could remember was a day trip with my lovely house mates in Burwood together with Shannon! That time was 4 of us,so we had bbq on top of the mountain.

This time round only 3 of us, so we decided to settle our lunch at the cafe instead, save the trouble of cooking and cleaning and have more time taking pictures.lol.The one hour ride up the mountain was indeed pleasure as i got to enjoy the beautiful scenery and have my quiet time for few minutes.

The good thing of hanging out with Mandy is that she loves taking pictures, which means i get to be in the picture most of the time.Every time going out for trips with her,we will definitely have a collection of pictures:) is so good to have someone to take pictures and all we need to do is to be the model !

 The steam train-Puffy Billy

There we are at the Belgrave station waiting to board the steam train

Our one and only picture with 3 of us

The park at Lakeside
(the place to have bbq and picnic)

I think that is enough of pictures. im too lazy to upload more pictures. The entire day was fun and relaxing, but something not that great happened towards the end of our trip.I decided to take a train back from Belgrave to city,so i dint follow VIvi's car.Who knows Vivi's car keys was with me,but luckily she realised it when i was just a stop away from Belgrave.I had to take the next train from Tecoma to Belgrave.

This wasnt that bad after all,i just waited for 10 minutes for the next train back to Belgrave and pass them the keys. The worst part was, when i boarded the next time from Belgrave back to city, they announced that Belgrave line has some disruptions, the train is not going move for the next 2 to 4 hours. All passengers have to find alternative ways.I quickly called Mandy and told her about it,but thank God they are not far from Belgrave yet so they turned back n pick me up from Belgrave station..

As it was already too late to go back city,i then spend the night over at Mandy's place.Hopefully her housemates will be ok with it!

will update soon:)

Great message being preached by pastor Steven Teo,as usual his preaching is always short and sweet, easy to remember.

Went for lunch with the youth in Baywater. After lunch i still dint want to go home. After Jason dropping us to Glenny station,Mandy and i went to Glen centro for a walk.Show you guys what i found.A really nice scarf from Country Road.Their scarves are always so nice but way too expensive.Really feels like owing one of these exp scarves.Should i pampered myself for once???

This is the one!!!

It just matches so well with black dress or any casual wear.
$80 for a scarf. still contemplating about it.

My favourite picture for the night.will be good if i put on some eye-liner and red lisptick ..lol

A satisfied dinner with a glass of moscato and of course a great company with my buddy Mandy!

Glen has changed so much lately. Most restaurants are opened till late.n you will be surprised, the western restaurants in Glen are really good! is comparable with those in the city.I felt as thou i was in the city:)

Simply asking a question here. How many group chat do people usually have on whatspp?Btw I have around 10 group chats on my whaspp, dont know why i have so many of them, nonetheless this is one of the ways that keeps me connected to all my friends.

Another group chat has recently created and i have been spammed with lots of  messages till the stage  i have to turn off my group chat notifications. lol. Because one of my uni mates is getting married at the end of the year,so me as one the bridesmaids we are discussing it over whatspp!

i gathered that getting married involved plenty of work ,apart from deciding the decorations, dresses, guest lists, the bride also needs to make sure  all her bridesmaids are comfortable with each other when it comes to delegation of  work.at this stage, besides me who is currently overseas.seems like things are still going on smoothly.

All the while i know that getting married is not about 2 person but it involves 2 families. But now i think i have to add another group in(friends from both sides of the newly weds)things would be so much easier if all the bride and groom's friends know each other!because in order to have a smoothly run wedding ceremony, the couple needs  help from all their friends.

im really excited and looking forward to Sherine's wedding:)I suppose her wedding is going to be a very grand wedding in JB!
