Mamasita

As many of you know,i love food.that why i love cooking, baking and trying out new restaurant whenever i have the chance. Mamasita would sound familiar to those who live in Melbourne.Heard of this place ample of  times but yet had the opportunity to visit because they are always packed. As you know im a person who doesn't like to queue for food even thou i love food so much
\
This time round is because Jia yu was queuing up for me cuz she was early in the city.Thank goodness i didn't have to wait for long to get a seat.Probably i have put  high expectation for them due to all the good reviews. The interior of the restaurant wasn't really towards my liking,we had to sit along the bar table side by side on the tall stool is just not as comfortable as cushioned chair.

The two of us ooh and ahh over the menu wondering what was it exactly stated on the menu. All the dishes name look  new to us.At the end we just looked up the most useful app URBANSPOON for the dishes we wanted. One thing i have to mention was the service of the restaurant .Service was really good, staffs were friendly and helpful and food served pretty fast without us waiting for long too.

The corn cob was super yum, usually i dont like to eat corn but i have to admit the taste was  beyond description.

The pork belly was my favorite, incredibly tender, the meat and fat  just melted in the mouth.  The puree had a special taste as well and blends so well with the meat and all the herbs.

some rice to fill us up a bit

Dont be deceived by this pic,the portion of this is very tiny.Probably 4cm long per piece.

Would love to come back again if i have the extra money but i guess it will be a very long time i will be back for the 2nd time as it it a bit too pricey. We ordered 3 tiny dishes and it costs us $60.After the dinner ,i was still hungry and we end up going to Max Brenner for dessert fill up our hungry stomach.

Snow Trip at Falls Creek

How is everyone's week been.Mine is rather stressful and yet fulfilling.

Lets stop thinking of the stressful part(leaving melb) and try focusing at the happy moments.

Last Friday, was a bit of rush for me even though i leave work at 4 pm. After reaching home,i still had to immediately rush out to Southern cross with my luggage as Johnny is picking me from there.

so we all gathered at our meeting point, the house in Kensington! I just felt so good hanging out with these group of people. We all came from different backgrounds, and get to know each other from our acquaintance but yet i feel comfortable around them.Really blessed to have known them and catch up every now and then ..
ok,let me start blogging on my journey to Falls creek. We drove about 4 hours to BRIGHT from Melb as we were staying in Bright.Falls creek is another 1.15 hours away. This is my first overnight stay somewhere near the snow mountain. In the past i usually go on one day trip and the further i been is usually not more than 2 hours..

The first day,i didn't go up the mountain.I stayed back to explore the town at Bright. We did 600 m trail walk to Huggins lookout in the afternoon and spent the evening playing card games at our little cottage.Ding being the only guy that didn't go up the snow mountain, was the driver and chef for the day! He really did a great job.imagine cooking vegetables curry ,beef rendang, and 2 other dishes  for 13 hungry people it is really not an easy task.

The cute couple Ding and Nicole

 Our trail walk has begun

The four girls being left behind.lol

 Group pic before dinner

Game time after dinner.

initially i didn't wanted to do any snow activity this time round because im really poor at the moment. But after looking at the pics and video they took on the snow mountain, my will power wasn't strong enough.I was tempted and decided to try snowboarding on the second day.

this is the reason i was tempted to go on snowboarding the next day.

The weather on 2nd day  was  terrible, very cold and windy. The moment i got off the chair lift,i couldn't see much as the fog was too thick. The sight in front of me was plainly white and blurry..No sight of human or moving objects can be seen 250 m ahead of me.

to be honest,i didn't quite enjoy it as much as i think it would be.cuz the weather was so bad.Furthermore,it was my first time snowboarding.Learning new things under a not so conducive environment just made it worst!

Nevertheless, its so nice of Andrew for spending time teaching  me how to snowboard at the mouse track.if you have seen or have taught a toddler how to walk, you would have imagine the whole scenario. I literally couldn't stand still on the snowboard for the first 2 to 3 rounds. The moment he tries to let go and let me skii, within 3 secs i fall flat on the snowfield .was rather embarrassing with all the awkward moves, but  at least i try. After trying ,now i know snowboarding is not my kind of sport, would just do skiing in the future.

After lunch,i was persuaded that i should go for Rapunzel (the real steep mountain).I totally couldn't make it down the mountain foot. Veronica was the one leading me this time round, she holds me by her side to ski down the mountain ,i guess i was too scared and i kept falling .A the end,we had to sit on our snowboard and ski down the mountain.

If i know how to snowboard this would definitely be super fun!it was envy looking at all the skier skiing down the mountain slope freely as though they owned the mountain.
We are all ready to go up the mountain

Our one and only snowman built by Shannon and Richard

me with all the ski Gears

This is Andrew who taught me how to snowboard.we cant even open our eyes cuz the snow n wind were too strong

i think this is the best pic taken on the first day which the weather so damn good!

Yeah group pic again

The King and I

Finally i got my ticket to The King and I! Have been wanting to get the tickets ages ago just that i couldn't get a suitable timing for Anna our busy Doctor. ahhahah .Finally A's busy period is finished and i managed to book her on the 30th August..Mandy is coming with us as well. How excited it will be...3 single ladies dates

Whenever i go to theater/Broadway i will never listen to the song and just rock up at the venue. But this time around im all prepared!  been steaming all the songs repeatedly at home .

Btw, found one more musical show i wann to go .It is called ONCE.but it is only showing in Sept  :(

I fall in love with the songs in ONCE because i heard it during my uni days when my housemate showed it to me.Even as im streaming it right now ,it reminds me of my housemate and the days in uni! i never knew these songs are the famous musical.

Stay tune, will update more and tell you if it is worth going!

*Btw whoever hasn't been to WICKED.I would highly recommend it! It is by far the best Broadway i have seen. They are now back in Melbourne again and the tickets are on sale at the moment.Grab hold of the opportunity it is definitely worth the value!

Birthday Month

August is really a month full of birthday celebrations.

Just my family alone,3 out of 7 members , has birthday falls in august.

Among my friends, many of them have birthday in august too,and most of them are at the beginning till mid of August.

Celebrated Jo's 22nd birthday last night at Collins Quater. The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic.but kind off towards the expensive side.but who cares you only have birthday once a year!

this is the main i picked for the night

My favorite pic of the day!
Jo with her 2 delicate cakes from Laurent

i guess non matter how expensive it is,nothing beats the cake i bake! but too bad,i dint have the time to bake one:(  of all time,i didnt have the time to bake a proper bake for my own cousin.

the 2 beautiful cousins ahhaha(me and Jo)

just want to share a bit of my cousin here.Jo is probably the closest cousin i ever had! Since childhood, we have been so close.Whenever school holiday starts,we will definitely go to KL and visit my aunt. Aunty also loves to bring either me or deb to tag along with them for overseas trips just to accompany jo. Living in Australia  has bought us closer than before as we are both away from our parents. So far ,we never had any quarrel before, i suppose you wouldn't even believe it! we pretty much live harmoniously, in fact we are being too quiet at home ..sometimes we could both sit on the same couch for hours and hours doing our own stuff without talking to each other.i remember a friend who stayed at our house,xx said its so weird both of you can just not utter a word when you are together..that is us..lol.thats our quiet time.

just so you know, we do talk nonsense and gossip like any other girls..Nonetheless,Staying together has indeed changed us in many ways...in fact it has shaped us to have similar thoughts, fashion sense, habits ...etc.i have gained and learnt so much from jo, she is my listener,English teacher, stalking instructor, confidence motivator, fashion and relationship consultant!

Fairness + we should all be better for someone we love

I believe our God is a fair god.

Non matter what you have been through, the hurts, the pain, the broken relationships...just believed He is with you all this time. Many times, when we are the one who is suffering,we would wonder where is god? What have i done to deserve these..why cant i have a normal and simply life like others???

One thing i have learned,if this is what he has placed in your life, let it be.Because He will lead you out of it  in his own ways.No human can comprehend how God can turn things around! This is how amazing our God is!

We might be admiring on things  we have always wanted .We have worked hard to achieve it but at the end of the day we still get nothing out of it.And yet others, didn't even have to ask or try hard enough n they got it.Is God fair?

Maybe it is still a YES...

Why would i say so? its so obvious in this situation its definitely not equitable.

Often we only see what others have(Particularly the things you wanted only),but we fail to see what we have and yet others have been longing for what we have such as a supporting family,an education, a place to stay, friends that stand by you, food on the table and etc.....

im not being optimistic, but we should always be content with what we have and give thanks for it.Continuously seek opportunity to serve and help others especially the Christians. As the bible says

whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

Lately i have a friend, who was hurt due some events that have happened .xx said even my non believer cares for me.What happened to those who claimed as Christians, where were they when i needed them?

tbh,its really sad to hear this because we Christians are hurt by our own brothers and sisters, what is more if the one that was hurt was a non believer.I know we are not perfect, but for those who is reading this(Especially the Christians)we should all make an effort to care for others.Stop clinging in your own small group, make an effort for your 'Private' invitation into an open events for everyone. Ok,maybe sometimes, its hard to involve everyone, but at least try inviting or include someone who is not in the usual gang in it.
