Korean BBQ

Korea BBQ in Melbourne will usually cost at least $30 to $40 per person. It is so expensive that i rarely eat Korea bbq.I was honoured to be invited by Vivi to her house for Korea bbq last weekend. Trust me,BBQ at home its like 10 times better than having it at a packed and noisy restaurant .Not only It is value for money ,we also have the luxury of taking our own sweet time bbq-ing the whole afternoon without worrying getting chase by restaurant .

This is vivi .Setting up the dining table at the deck

We have a wide range of  side dishes to choose from.(Kimchi, marinated carrot to seaweed) the usual side dishes you can find at the restaurant were all on our table.

Let me bring you through the preparation process of our Korea BBQ.

Mandy busy preparing all the ingredients for BBQ.Can you see how much of  chopping, cutting, and slicing involved to prepare all these??
Seriously no joke. Now i understand why and how Korean housewives can spend the whole day in the kitchen. If im going to prepare all the side sides for every meal i dont think i can survive! LoL

Alcohol drinks that compliment well with bbq

Im drooling just looking at this picture.
Without any seasoning , the meat n fat will just melt in your mouth.
I'm willing to forgone my diet plan n just die for this!
Honestly,i know i will definitely regret the next day after eating it ,knowing how much exercise i need to do to just to burn off all the fat. but who cares, happiness comes first.

This is really the highlight of the day.Sesame leave wrapped with pork belly, kimchi,Korean chili paste ,rice and cucumber. The sesame leaf tastes so much better than the normal iceberg lettuce. If you haven't tried it before, you shd really try it.It can be purchased the any korean grocery store.

PS:Feel like having KOREAN BBQ again next week(Hint hint Mandy..lol)

We had an early birthday celebration for Mandy on Saturday over at Stepy's house. Our master chef Jun was the cook for the day.If you haven't tried Jun culinary skill. Please do so !!! She is really an awesome cook.I would say better than those you could find at any Chinese restaurants around Melbourne.

Menu for the day
1)Marinated mixed Veg with shreded chicken and fungus
2)Salted Veggies with fish fillet
3)Vinegar pork ribs with sesame (Highlight for the day)

Apart from that, its just some bonding time with Issy and Stepy. Issy and i had a stroll around the neineighborhood the weather was too good to resist.Step and Mandy had so much fun taking pictures using Jun's phone bought from China.Pictures taken from the camera doesnt show any flaws on the face. With that everyone will have smooth and silky face without any makeup.

Close up look pic of me (Without any makeup) and Stephanie (Eye makeup only)

Last but not least,we had a farewell party on Sunday with all my lovely colleagues. It is sad to know that Sylvester is going to leave. But nonetheless, this group of us should cease.

Busy week

I totally love my current life/routine  right now,as much as i want a rs but at the same time i really enjoy the freedom and private time doing my own thing.Every day just went passed so quickly till the stage  i cant even catch my own breath.

Month of October has been ridiculously busy. Im nackered! Tonnes of paperwork has been piling on my work desk. This is the first time in 2 years i have had so much to do. Working from 9 to 5 is no longer an option for me .I have been going work slightly early and staying late  just to finish up the unending loads of work.

Apart from that, im learning new stuff at work ,handling a slightly different role Indeed it is a challenge for me.Not really sure whats ahead, but i want to give it a try. After all, what i was doing at work was kind of a routine for me.I suppose this is a good timing to move on.Opportunity has been given, all you needed to do is just hold on to it.No pain, no gain  !

In terms of social life, October is rather busy too! So many ppl birthdays fall in the month of October. My uncle celebrated his 50th Birthday last weekend,so we basically spent the entire night at his party. This week is Gemma birthday and on this coming sat will be Chloe's engagement party.I felt so bad for not celebrating/spending the special moment with them especially for Chloe! I really struggled for making such a decision to give a miss on Chloe's big day.But i have no choice, cant finish my studies:( sometime you just have to decide what is more important to you.I'ii definitely make it up for her later.Mandy on the other hand  is a bit lucky to have her birthday at the very end of October. This is the period where most exams will be over ..no time to plan anything yet.but im sure will have a quality birthday celebration with her:)

Nowadays, i feel like im so week emotionally.I can easily break out in tears.Just yesterday, the news of my colleagues resigning due to better offer elsewhere has made me so upsad. In fact, the moment i heard the news,my tears started to roll down my cheeks. Its a mix feeling, mentally im not prepared or didn't expect him to leave so soon. He is one of the closest colleagues i have,he is not only my senior,my friend, but also someone i see and sit together in the same office room for more than 7 hours a day in 2 years

He had taught me so many things at work.As far as many of you know, this is my first job,at work there are so many things which i dont know ,Sylvester is always the one that taught me patiently. The first 6 month,he stays back at work to give me 'AFTER HOUR TUTORING 'to teach me the basics of  debits and credits.Where the hell, can you find someone so nice as him? Who would stay back at work and teach their new colleague! All these simply things should have learnt in uni not at work ! Honestly,i'm  grateful God for placing these people around me to teach and guide me.

Being an adult is never easy, there are so many thing to be learned and worried.,learning to let go and move on its one of the hardest one so far..i have come to know that no one will stay with us forever, people come and go all the time.Even our beloved family will one day leave us.The most important thing is right now, spending quality time with whoever around us and create memorable memories which we could remember or flashback 10 or 20 years down the road !

Our little 'Guest'/Baby for the week

any of you an animal lover?

If you have a dog,the dog will be your servant , vice versa if you have a cat, you will become the cat servant.I have to say this statement cant  be more true !

Our friend's cat Bea has been staying with us for the past few days.i can honestly tell you ,my cousin and i have become the cat's pet hahaha. On first day,the cat BEA was just hiding under the couch, dint want to eat or drink. We had to pull her out of the couch, lure with food ,feed her with food on our palms and even trying to play with her assuring she is not homesick, sick,or lonely..

Not only that, every morning we had to find her making sure she is still in the apartment by not jumping out of the balcony.lol. The MOST troubling  part is that her litter tray has to be cleaned daily, making sure it is always clean so that cat wont do their business elsewhere apart from the litter tray.tough life right??

Just yesterday, we had to bring her to the vet just because there were some stains in the cat's poo.We were so afraid she might fall sick or something...nonetheless, the vet said she is very healthy, gained 200g,fur is nice and shine, healthy teeth. The only reason the vet could assume is probably the stress due to the changed of environment...quite sarcastic right...what is so stress about for being a cat..having to sleep 18 hours a day, waking up with food and people to play with her.ahhahah.I believe my life is more stress than that !

the aforementioned wasnt easy as Bea wasnt comfortable with us and us being a foster mum for the cat wasnt as easy as we thought..more responsibility are being placed upon us..

As all things come with  good a 'prize'  , Bea has adapted very well at our place now.No longer playing 'Hide and seek' with us.You could easily spot her at her few favorite spots(dining chair, behind the tv,under the laundry stand). You be lucky if she is in her good mood, she will come around lying and wanting belly from you.

See SHE is all ready for me to snap a nice pic of her..
isnt she adorable?? love her to bits now

aww,she is sleeping like a baby all curl up like a snowball under our laundry stand
